Momma, you have been so prepared for your new baby's arrival. You spent hours chatting with your toddler - they were excited and loved blowing kisses on your tummy.
You read all the parenting guides on handling new siblings, and bought a gift for baby to 'give' to their big brother/sister. You made sure you weren't holding baby when they first came in to the room...
And for a while, it worked.. They seemed so happy to have this new baby. Maybe you even thought you had escaped the 'toddler regression' that everyone warned you about?
But, now baby's a bit bigger, on the move, and big sibling is letting you know they are NOT happy about it.
All of a sudden their behaviour has changed
- Biting, or hitting
- tantrums and throwing toys
- won't sleep in their own bed anymore
- night wakings..
Here is a story for you to tell to your toddler, to help them have the confidence that they are loved by you, that they belong to your family, no matter what.
If you would like to arrange a coaching session, I work with families individually to help them manage the issues around sibling rivalry, and to implement a plan that will develop long-term, healthy sibling relationships. Find out more.
